Angela Hayes is one of the soldiers who fought with Meredith during Cel's ambush in Swallowing Darkness. She carries one of the nails that had been covered with Merry's blood during that battle. She now put her faith in the goddess of the sidhe. Through faith she was able to heal others and when in need, able to call Meredith to her aid.

Hayes called Meredith to her while wounded, unable to heal herself due to her guilt for killing the young boy who stabbed her. Through Meredith's aid, the Goddess manifests in the guise of Angela's grandmother and convinces the soldier to relinquish her guilt and heal herself.
