A Caress of Twilight is the second book in the Meredith Gentry series.
Meredith Gentry, the Unseelie princess and unlikely private eye, seems to spend almost as much time surviving her position in the fey world as attending to her client, glamorous film star Maeve Reed, who is actually a banished Seelie noble who once was worshiped as a goddess of beauty. She needs Meredith's help with a fertility ritual.
Meredith does what she can for Maeve, although she has troubles enough of her own in the conception game. As one of two possible heirs to the Unseelie throne - the other being her cousin, Prince Cel - Meredith must produce her own child and then, by faerie tradition, marry the father of the child.
Meredith and her men find themselves forced to battle a fearsome, crawling, tentacled monster, the Nameless, which was the dumping ground of all the faerie magics most dangerous to their new world existence, which was mysteriously freed and set to kill Maeve Reed.
